Express Homemade Chocolate Icecream (dairy free and relatively low cal)

We have been a little experimental in the kitchen in the last few weeks and some of the tests turned out amazing such as this homemade chocolate ice-cream! :)

Super easy. Here are the ingredients:

  • 3 frozen bananas (don't be a muppet and peel them before putting them in the freezer... some of us only learn the hard way though! ;o))
  • Almonds (a couple of handfuls)
  • Chocolate (we used about 50gr... but more is nice too!)
  • Cocoa Powder (we used 4 table spoons, use whatever you feel like)
  • Agave syrup (to be honest this is not really necessary unless you use very unripe bananas)
Basic ingredients (chocolate chunks missing!)

Step 1: peel the bananas and freeze them (if you don't do this, you wont be able to peel them later!)

Step 2: toast some almonds in a pan

No oil, just heat and stir
Step 3: grind toasted almonds in a food processor (then take them out of the food processor - if you don't, they wont mix so well with the other ingredients and they will just become a very fine powder around the blades of the food processor: you want crunchy almond bits, not powder.)

Step 4: put frozen bananas, cocoa powder, chocolate chunks, agave syrup and finally ground almonds in the processor, ideally in this order not like in the photo ;o) Process well!
Ingredients ready to food process (but not in the appropriate order to make this easy!)
Step 5: Serve and enjoy

Don't let your dog eat it!
