About us

We are Patricia and Christian - engineers by profession, nature lovers at heart.  We work in renewable energies and moved to Santiago in the middle of 2011.  Prior to moving here we lived in Bristol in England for many years.

We started writing this blog to document some of our experiences in Chile, mainly for ourselves but also to keep our friends and family up to date.  When we moved here we knew that things would be a little different from what we were used to in Europe. Questions like: where do you recycle, how do you use public transport, where can we eat, etc. kept popping up. So we decided to document answers to some of those questions, as well. While we know it is an illusion to live sustainably in a massive city like Santiago – and we’re not even talking about the carbon footprint of the long-haul flights to get here as an expat in the first place - there are some things we’ve figured out are possible!

Many of our posts relate to weekend trips, hikes in the mountains or other adventures.  If there hasn’t been any activity on our blog for a while it probably means we’ve been too busy with work to go and play. Sadly, that happens at times. Please check again later…

Last but not least, we have a section of vegan online resources. We found that we’re still being asked “why are you vegan?” or “what do you eat?”  That section is an attempt to deal with those.

If you find our blog interesting, please feel free to drop by every now and then or sign-up for email alerts. Happy reading!
