Pfiffi and the winter

It has been a while since our last post (and it is not for lack of action, but mainly for lack of time). Since La Campana we have managed:

A visit to Europe for work but while we were at it to enjoy some family and summer time during our southern hemisphere winter.
This was part of the work bit :o)

Giant poppies in Germany

The best chocolate mousse in the world (?) and it is vegan too ;o) (#LovingVeganChoicesinEurope)
A little bit of the med

A little bit more of the med
We have also done a few treks (Conchali, Alto Naranjo and Reserva Rio Clarillo) - some of the highlights below.

Mario tried his new hiking boots in the snow.

Generally enjoying the snow... and the way down from Conchali

Our family has grown by one additional 4 legged member: her name is Pfiffi and her level of activity is driving us both up the wall at times ;op (not to mention that she is able to jump onto the kitchen counter and eat the lunch of unsuspecting people!)

Pfiffi surrounded by her new family (Mario not totally keen ;o))
Lots of energy makes a great trekking dog
Loving the mountains
Pfiffi is between 2 and 4 years old and comes from the equivalent of a rescue centre in Santiago. There aren't really highly organised rescue operations but there are more or less disorganised groups of people that take dogs and cats off the street and try to re-home them. She is very healthy, loving the home-made food and has already learnt to walk on the leash (more or less), run with the bike on the leash and run with us.

Our ecohome is still on the drawing board but we have gone through a few iterations and are making progress. We may have more updates in the next few weeks.

In the mean time, we are now in Colombia having a bit of a break (more on this very soon!)
