The last weeks were filled with a lot of work, a trip to Europe (conferences, work meetings, family visits, etc), a work trip to San Pedro de Atacama, a couple of wintery hikes and nice encounters with several new couch surfers who stayed with us.
One of us also managed to fit in a short weekend trip to Canada (awful for the eco footprint and ashamed about it! but a real paradise for vegans with vegan-friendly shops and restaurants scattered all over Montreal). This trip was work related so feel a bit better about it.
The worst of the southern winter is over, we've had the first few nice spring days (today 28°C), and our mini veggie garden is now at it's most productive. We've got tons of chard growing everywhere, kale, some broad beans, a few broccoli plants (not quite ready, yet), lettuce and rucola, some of the last tomatoes which ripened in the winter sun and a kamikaze sun flower (although that one did get some frost damage a couple of weeks ago, so probably won't make it). And, we even collected 3 peanuts from some plants which grew over last summer (may not sound like a great achievement but who would have thought peanuts are tubers and not nuts?).
Veg-warriors getting ready for the summer and we will be posting again soon as some really exciting (not that exciting ;o)) updates are coming!
